Activities in 2017

Summary: In 2017, we carried out several high-impact projects with international reach. We implemented vision-based fuse block test benches for Freightliner truck production in Mexico and the United States. We supported the production of two new DSL gateway models with end-of-line (EOL) testers and test jigs in Manaus, Brazil, for Sagemcom and Jabil. In France, we developed a motor testing solution using Modbus TCP for Meggitt, which also included a test sequencer with CompactDAQ. We pioneered the creation of a WiFi test bench for GPON gateways, also in Brazil. In Mexico, we implemented a traceability system for gas sensor production at Delphi. In France, we enhanced our clinical cosmetology study software by integrating the Diastron TLS850 instrument. We also took part in a university conference at UJED in Mexico, presenting on engineering and globalization. Finally, we highlight the development of an automotive battery fault simulator for Clarion, capable of generating disturbances according to ISO 16750-2, with real-time control and an intuitive LabVIEW interface, aimed at validating ECUs and embedded electronics.
Locations: Mexico, United States, Brazil (Manaus), France
Companies: Freightliner (Daimler), Sagemcom, Jabil, Meggitt, Delphi, Clarion

Reflecting on the year 2017, it was a period of remarkable achievements and global impact in the fields of hardware and software development. Our team’s dedication to innovation led to significant advancements in measurement and traceability systems, as well as enriching training programs across Mexico, the United States, Brazil, and France.

Our key projects included the deployment of visionary fuse block test benches for Freightliner trucks, the launch of new DSL home gateway models with comprehensive end-of-line testing solutions, and the integration of Modbus TCP for versatile engine testing. We also pioneered WIFI testing for GPON fiber optic home gateways, developed a sophisticated traceability system for Delphi’s sensor production, and enhanced our cosmetology clinical study software with cutting-edge measurement technology. Each initiative not only contributed to our growth but also set new standards in their respective domains:
  • Automotive Manufacturing - Fuses block test bench by vision for the Freightliner trucks production (Daimler): one in Mexico and two in the United States (LabVIEW, vision).
  • Consumer Electronics and Telecommunications - Production of two new DSL home gateway models for Sagemcom and Jabil: implementation of end of line testers (EOL) with accompaniment of the production ramp up and NPI assistance in Brazil (TestStand, LabWindows/CVI).
  • Consumer Electronics and Telecommunications - Engine test and Modbus TCP: development of a software solution for controlling an engine test bench in two modes. Local mode allows the technician to check the engine for measurements; The remote mode allows another system to automate and control measures by Modbus TCP. All measurements are available at any time via Modbus TCP. This system was installed in France (LabVIEW).
  • Consumer Electronics and Telecommunications - WIFI test of GPON fiber optic home gateway for Sagemcom and Jabil: hardware and software development of wireless test bench for Brazil service center. It detects faults distinguishing antennas to facilitate repair (TestStand)
  • Automotive Manufacturing - Traceability system for the sensors production for Delphi: development of tactile interfaces for operators to monitor the production of Delphi gas sensors and accompanying the implementation of the database (C#, Oracle)
  • Life Sciences and Healthcare Technology - Skin clinical study software for cosmetology: adding a new measurement instrument (Diastron translucency meter TLS850) and new features to the software introduced in 2010 and now used by many laboratories (LabVIEW).
  • Automotive Manufacturing - Automotive Battery Fault Simulator, capable of reproducing electrical disturbances according to ISO 16750-2 – the international standard for testing electrical systems in vehicles.
    • Main features:
      • Generation of custom waveforms to simulate critical faults, such as: Load dump transients, Voltage drops and interruptions in microseconds, Polarity reversal and superimposed AC noise
      • Event sequencer to replicate complex scenarios (vehicle start-up/shutdown)
      • Real-time control of power sources and loads
      • Intuitive LabVIEW interface with pre-configured profiles (ISO 16750-2)
      • Automatic reporting for certification and traceability
    • Applications:
      • Validation of ECUs and embedded electronics
      • Compliance testing for OEMs and suppliers
      • Accelerated product development with higher reliability
    • Location: Mexico
    • Company: Clarion
